Your ceremony can be as stunningly simple or as beautifully involved as you want.
Or it can be a combination of both.
I decided to include marriage and joining ceremonies in my ceremonial practice after friends felt their wedding ended up being nothing like they had agreed with their celebrant. In their words, 'she went rouge'.
You want to remember your day for all the right reasons, not the wrong ones. However, it is really important to understand that there are likely to be a few compromises along the way. Celebrants should work to ensure you are happy with your ceremony, your day and your new or renewed commitment to each other.
I guide my clients through the different types of ceremony structures including, for marriages under law, those sections that need to be included in the ceremony for legal purposes. I have a particular interest in developing ceremonies that borrow from, include or reference elements of faith and spirituality, but I also enjoy creating ceremonies that are simple, elegant and are focussed on the couple standing together alongside me on the day.
At the moment, I offer joining ceremonies: weddings, handfasting, commitment ceremonies and vow renewals on a referral basis. This is because I am still building my celebrant practice. I also work full time in a job and with a group of people I love, I teach some yoga classes and I am undertaking a masters in Counselling.
If you are just looking for some assistance to write your ceremony or your vows, I also offer these services without actually performing the ceremony for you.
If you are looking for a celebrant please email me and we can have a chat about it what I can offer you!
If you are a looking for Justice of the Peace in the ACT you can also email me.
Please also be aware that there is a code of practice governing the standards and work of marriage celebrants in Australia.
