Slow FlowIn a slow flow workshop, I start with stillness and breath and return to stillness and breath.
Adhering to the 'motion is lotion' approach to movement, we start to move gently before we find and dwell in asana (postures). Our transitions between asana are a little slower which makes this practice accessible by beginners, but is also wonderful for intermediate and advanced yogis seeking to find and then strengthen the connection between asana (postures) with prana (breath) awareness. Slow flow classes will focus on a few asana that can be bought together to form a gradual flow and conclude with a balance asana. Participants will have a greater awareness of what happens to them energetically, to explore their alignment, and deepen the stress and stretch of each asana. The workshop will always conclude with a mindfulness element in savasana. |
Gentle FlowGentle flow workshops start with a period of mindfulness and with a strong focus on breath.
Participants will move without force or strain through a series of gentle asana (postures) supported by breath. As a slower practice, I hope participants can find their way into and out of each asana with ease, using breath to support both movement and stillness. The gentleness in approach and in our movements and postures encourages observation and relaxation. Over time participants should experience increased flexibility and physical awareness that enables balance mentally and physically. The workshop will always conclude with a mindfulness element in savasana. |
Yin as TonicI am currently studying my Yin teacher training with Bernie Clark and Diana Batts, so I am not teaching Yin but it's my favourite type of yoga and was my initial reasons for undertaking yoga training.
